Ted Freeland officiating. Interment will be 4:30 PM Friday in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Ruston, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville. Elaine Grigsby Pesnell was born on September 18, 1924 in Ruston, LA and passed away on December 14, 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Pesnell; parents, Chester and Vera Grigsby; brothers, Ernest Grigsby and Gene Grigsby; and a sister, Yvonne Goss. Mrs. Pesnell was a retired school teacher from the Holly Ridge School. She also was librarian and guidance counselor for many years at the school. Mrs. Pesnell was honored by the school by having the school library named after her. She was past Historian and Regent of the Beouf River Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution. Survivors include her son, Gary Lane Pesnell and wife, Sandra of Rayville; a grandson, Kevin Lane Pesnell and wife, Bonnie of Marietta, GA; 2 brothers, Chester P. Grigsby, Jr. and wife, Audrey of Shreveport, LA; and Glen G. Grigsby and wife, Jan of Ruston; 3 sisters, Ellon Nelson of Ruston, LA; Geraldine Veatch and husband, Bud of Grand Junction, Colorado; and Sue Horton and husband, Paul of Shreveport, LA and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews, Jerry Grigsby, Robert Goss, Rickey Nelson, Chester Grigsby III, Grant Grigsby, Jeff Grigsby and James Plank. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at First United Methodist Church in Rayville.
