BETTY CARTER PETERSON

Betty Carter Peterson, 74, passed away September 7, 2016 in Ormond Beach, 
Florida due to complications from heart surgery. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Lillian Brunson Carter 
and brother, Dr. Stephen Carter. 

Betty is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Albert Peterson and their 
sons, Scott and Steve Peterson and her cousins, Judy McIntosh and Dianne 
Mears. 

Over the years Betty and John lived in Houston, Texas; Rodgers, Arkansas, 
Spring, Texas, then retired to Ormond Beach, Florida. Betty was in the WMHS 
Class of 1960. She graduated from LSU with a major in Speech Therapy. Her 
greatest joy was the creation of her business Godfrey-Carter Design 
featuring her unique silver jewelry with her imaginative, fanciful designs
