Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Roark Phillips Sr., and children , Charles Edward Phillips and John Paul Phillips. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University, a lifelong Kappa Delta member and had a long career as an elementary school and Special Education Teacher. Millie was a long time member of the Richardson Women's Club, was active and enjoyed her quilting and book clubs, and was an avid Bridge player. She was a founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, as well as teaching there during its early years. Mildred or Millie, as she was known to all, is survived by daughter, Mildred (Midge) Keller Claiborne of Houston, sons James Roark Phillips, Jr. and Lee Phillips from Richardson, and son Michael Phillips of Houston, along with grandchildren Courtney, Adam and Amanda Claiborne, Darren Phillips, Coby Phillips, Meagan Phillips, Katie and Jimmy Phillips, great grandchildren Tyler Nicole Phillips, Graham Claiborne, and Chandler Martinez. She will be missed greatly by her many friends and relatives, everyone that knew Millie loved her. A Memorial Liturgy to celebrate her life will be held on July 7, 2012 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 Floyd Rd. Richardson, Texas 75090, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the St. Paul Building Fund.
