His resting place is in a family cemetery in Farmerville, LA. Windsor Everett Pipes was born in 1949 to Williamson and Thelma Pipes in Morehouse Parish, and passed away April 27, 2017, after a lengthy illness. He graduated from Bastrop High School and was honored as "Most Intelligent". Windsor also attended LSU and NLU, now ULM, where he earned his B.S. in Psychology. He was a talented musician and computer programmer. Known for his quick wit and gentle nature, Windsor was a career musician, starting with a folk group in high school and continuing with singing, guitar and keyboarding, playing as long as his health permitted. His family remains deeply grateful for his selfless devotion to the care of his mother for her many months of illness. It is certain that he was her favorite. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Nan Pipes Droke. Windsor is survived by his sister, Lydia Roane (David) of Johnson City, TN; as well as nieces and nephews, Margaret Roane Smith (Preston), Joel Roane (Clair), Sophia Roane and David Braughton. Windsor's close friends, Diana Watson, Kenny McCallum and Brian Phelps were loyal to the end, offering care and assistance throughout his struggle with cancer. Kenny and friends organized a benefit on Windsor's behalf, which boosted his mood, and helped with the costs of his treatment at MD Anderson. A huge thank you goes out to each involved in that effort, and to the donors whom the family wishes they could name and thank personally. Heartfelt appreciation also goes to Debbie, Carmen and Shelly Marsala for their kindness and support during Windsor's illness and also to the staff and community at McKeen Plaza.
