HARVEY TODD PLATT Kilpatrick Funeral Home Funeral, West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Todd Platt, affectionally known as,"Flip Top Pop", 70, will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Amity Cemetery on Highway 133 in Hebert, La. with Rev. Charles Laurent officiating, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Platt was born September 13, 1938 in Winnsboro, La. and passed away on September 20, 2008. He served his country as a tail gunner in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the Chanute Air Force base in Illinois. He is preceded in death by his son, Daryl Wesley Platt; infant grandson, Lil Slugger; parents, Oliver and Viola Smith Platt; sisters, Nita Ellis, Myrtis Swillie, Dorothy Morris, Lois Wollenson and Gladys Platt; and brothers, Charlie, Chester, Marvin, and James Platt. Survivors include his wife, Marty Platt; daughter, Dawn Meeks and husband Kevin; sons, Damon Platt and wife Candida, and David, Daniel, Douglas, Derrick and Donovan Platt; grandchildren, Patsy, Summer, Jonathan, Cheyenne, Shawn, Brandy, Christy, Anna, Kayla, Damon Jr., Renne, and Donovan Jr.; great grandchildren, Brendan, Stormie, and Evan; and brother, O.D. "Buck" Platt and wife Ellen; sister, Mildred Ganey; sister-in-law, Thelma Platt; brother-in- law, Pete Swillie; and a tremendous amount of other family members. Sons wish to serve as pallbearers. Special thanks to Kay Skains and Cornerstone Hospital. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
