POSEY Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Elton Posey, Jr., 77, of Winnsboro, LA, retired from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will be held 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church Winnsboro, LA with Rev. Harry Boyd and Rev. Craig Beeman officiating. Interment will be in New Winnsboro Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church. Mr. Posey was born June 11, 1935 in Winnsboro, LA to his parents Lloyd Elton and Estelle Marie Farmer Posey and passed from this life on January 10, 2013 at his residence in Winnsboro, LA following a lengthy battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling Linda "LuLu" Cusimano of Slidell, LA who preceded him in death on January 8, 2013. Mr. Posey was a 1957 graduate of Northeast Louisiana State College now (ULM). Following ten years with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he joined his father in the grocery business in Rayville LA, but returned to LDWF in 1991, retiring in 2001. In his early career, Mr. Posey was influential in the development of commercial fish farming methods, as well as the design and construction of impoundments such as Sibley Lake, Toledo Bend Reservoir, and Lake Claiborne. He is best remembered, though, for his work in Northeast Louisiana as Wildlife Educator Area Coordinator. As such, he touched the lives of many area residents, particularly young people. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro and a Past Master of R. F. McGuire Lodge No. 209, F. & A. M., in Rayville. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Joyce Killen Posey, of Winnsboro, LA; two sons, John C. Posey of Monroe, LA and Mark E. Posey and wife, Beth of Manassas, VA; two granddaughters, Amanda Lee Posey and Sarah Elizabeth Posey of Bossier City, LA; a great-granddaughter, Graecyn McKinlee; brother in law Frank Cusimano, Jr. of Slidell, LA and a host of friends and relatives throughout the region. Pallbearers will be Charles Anthony Cusimano, Frank N. Cusimano, III; Lloyd Landon Cusimano, Ralph Gill, Thomas R. Hill, Sr. and Michael Saucier.
