MAURINE HAYNES POWELL

A private family service for Maurine Haynes Powell, 93, of West Monroe, LA 
will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mrs. Powell's 
grandchildren will arrange the service; Sean and Kent Murphy, Derek, Stuart 
and Blake Hodnett, along with her granddaughter, Janae Hodnett Rozema. No 
visitation will be held.

Mrs. Powell was born March 2, 1919 in Razor, TX, and was a native of Paris, 
TX. She had resided in Monroe, LA from 1956 until 2003 when she moved to West 
Monroe. Mrs. Powell is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, 
James N. Powell, Jr. and daughter, Maurlyne Murphy.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Earl and husband, Gerald Leroy (Dale) 
of West Monroe, LA; son-in-law, George (Jo) Murphy of Oak Point, TX; six 
grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Hunter of Lubbock, 
TX, Robbie (Wayne) Parson of Post Oak, TX and sister-in-law, Evelyn Haynes of 
Paris, TX.

Appreciation is expressed to Dr. Floyd Jones and his staff during Mrs. 
Powell's lengthy illness.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 
American Cancer Society, Diabetic Association, Heart Association or 
Alzheimer's Association.
