MARK WYNN POWELL

Mark Wynn Powell was born on April 22, 1957 in Rayville, LA and passed away on 
February 5, 2016. He graduated from Riverfield Academy, Rayville, LA and 
received a Bachelor's Degree from NLU (ULM). Mark performed research work for 
the U.S. Corp of Engineers, Vicksburg, MS and worked for the LA Dept. of 
Tourism, Mound, LA. For the past eleven years Mark was a Field Representative 
with the U.S. Dept. of Census Bureau. Mark was an active member and Deacon in 
Westlakes Seventh-Day Adventist Church, West Monroe, LA.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Wynn Powell, Rayville, LA; 
sister, Penny Virginia Powell, Terrell, TX and brother, Ralph Vernon Powell, 
JR, Rayville, LA.

Mark is survived by his father, Ralph Vernon Powell, SR, Rayville, LA; sister, 
Janis Guyton, Monroe, LA, brothers, David Wayne Powell and wife Kristen of Las 
Vegas, NV; Benny Vernon Powell, Terrell, TX; uncle, Bill Wynn of Monroe, LA and 
several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. 
Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2016 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM at Westlakes 
Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 202 Winterpark Dr. West Monroe, LA 71292. Funeral 
Services will be officiated by Pastor Daniel Hoover and held at the Westlakes 
Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00PM. 
Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, LA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mark's memory to Westlakes Seventh-
Day Adventist Church, 202 Winterpark Dr., West Monroe, LA 71292 or to the 
American Heart Association /American Stroke Association , P.O. Box 840692, 
Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
