BETTY D. POLK POWELL

Funeral services for Betty D. Polk Powell, 73, of West Monroe will be 10 am 
Thursday, February 18, 2016, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home 
with Rev. Jimmy Piston officiating. Interment will follow in Legion Memorial 
Cemetery, Newellton. Visitation will be 5 - 7 pm Wednesday, February 17, 2016, 
at the funeral home.

Mrs. Powell was born January 21, 1943, in St. Joseph to the union of Clarence 
Lamar Vines and Lily Lorena Roy Vines and passed from this life on February 
15, 2016, in Ruston.

Mrs. Powell was a member of Clarks Springs Baptist Church, Cadeville.

She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband, Rev. Jerry C. Polk.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice Powell of West Monroe; daughter, Amy 
Stahl and husband Doug of Lyons, CO; son, Aaron Polk and wife Stephanie of 
Monroe; three grandchildren: Macy Stahl, Gavin Polk and Garrett Polk; three 
sisters: Ann Marriott of West Monroe, Dorothy Harvill and husband John of 
Beaumont, TX, Barbara Tatum and husband Buddy of Winnsboro; three brothers: 
Ken Vines and wife Delynn of West Monroe, Lynn Vines and wife Nanette of 
Zachary, Sonny Vines and wife Marie of Los Vegas, NV; and a host of other 
family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Harvill, Michael Harvill, Ray Tatum, Caleb Vines, 
Jason Vines and Josh Vines.
