THOMAS J. POWERS

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas J. Powers, 73, of West Monroe will be held at 
2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home 
of West Monroe. Father Frank Coens will officiate. Interment will follow at 
Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 
West Monroe.

Mr. Powers was born August 1, 1937 in Little Rock, Arkansas and passed away 
January 19, 2011 in West Monroe. He retired from the United States Navy after 
serving 3 years active duty and 25 years Navy Reserve. He retired after 
officiating for 50 years at the high school and college level in football and 
basketball. He was presently serving as the Assignment Secretary for Monroe 
Football Officials Association. He retired as a manager from Graphic Packaging 
after a lengthy career.

Mr. Powers was preceded in death by his parents, John Patrick and Grace 
Mitchell Powers; his first wife, Anne Barkley Powers; brothers, Pat and Dick 
Powers; a sister, Mary Ann Powers; step-mother, Edna L. Powers.

Mr. Powers is survived by his wife of 30 years; Wilma Williams Powers; son, 
John Vincent Powers and wife Sheri; daughter, Lisa Halley and husband Stephen; 
granddaughters; Stephanie Powers, Hannah Griffin; brothers, Ed Powers and wife 
Susie, and Don Powers and wife Marcia of Little Rock, AR. He is also survived 
by a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 21, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
