Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Jean Lewis Prather, age 53, of Sterlington, 
Louisiana will be held at 4PM on Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Father Richard Norsworthy will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Forest Cemetery in Forest, Louisiana.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Mrs. Prather died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at her residence.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Peterson "J. P." Lewis and two 
brothers, Johnnie Ray Lewis and Robert Calvin Lewis, Sr.

Mrs. Prather was the Box Office Manager for the Monroe Civic Center. She was a 
member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Sterlington. She was a graduate of 
Kilbourne High School in 1973 and Northeast Louisiana University in 1977. She 
previously was a real estate agent with Shackelford French Century 21 in 
Monroe. She was affectionately known as "MawMaw ReRe" to her granddaughter, 
McKenzie.

She was a dearly loved mother and grandmother. She will be remembered and 
missed always.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Heather Prather of 
West Monroe, Louisiana; granddaughter, McKenzie Prather of West Monroe; 
mother, Catherine O'Flynn Lewis of Kilbourne, Louisiana; brother and sister-in-
law, Duane Michael and Sherry Lewis of Winnsboro, Louisiana; sister and 
brother-in-law, Dianne and David A. Smith of Sterlington; sister and brother-
in-law, Linda and Eugene Richard Jr. of Bastrop, Louisiana; sister and brother-
in-law, Shirley and Doug Wilson of Natchez, Mississippi.

Pallbearers are: J. P. Lewis, Cole Pruitt, John Pruitt, Marcus Ford, Michael 
Hagan and Ray Bennett.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Ron Boller and Tracy Smith.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22, 2009 between the hours of 
4 to 9PM at Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.
