PRICE, JR. Sonny Boy "Pappy" Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA A Celebration of the life of Mr. Clarence H Price, Jr., 75, of West Monroe will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Waymon Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Clarence was born on November 19, 1933 and went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2009. He was a long time member of Fair Park Baptist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and being a part of the Men's Sunday School Class. Clarence was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from (Brown) Riverwood Paper Mill, where he worked for 43 years. In his early years, Clarence loved fishing and hunting. He was an avid West Monroe Rebel Fan and enjoyed tailgating with his best buddies. But he devoted his entire life to his beloved wife of 54 years, his children and his precious grandchildren. Clarence was a tower of strength, a care-giver, a conscientious worker, devoted friend and a loving father and grandfather who honored God, family and his country. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. Price Sr. "Red" and Juanita Price and by his mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Vernie Clark. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Vernie Jean Price; two children, Randy Price and wife Lana and Leslie Purcell; two grandchildren, Shandi Conville and Dalton Purcell; two sisters, Betty Scharf and husband Ray and Debbie Plummer; brother, Maurice Price and wife Frances and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Randy Price, Garland Meredith, Jeff Jordan, Bobby Lemoine, Michael Plummer, Al Hamby, Ken Brooks and Mark Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Maurice Price, Ray Scharf, Ronnie LaBorde, Danny Bennett, Ben Brooks, Herb Peterson, John Jowers, Bill Tucker, R.B. Pepper "Pepper", The Encouragers - Clarence's Sunday School Class at Fair Park Baptist Church and Sonny's Soldiers. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Uncle Clarence will always be a special memory for his nieces and nephews. His sisters-in-law looked up to him and loved him as a brother. He will be sorely missed!
