RICHARD GUY III. PRICE

A celebration of the life of Mr. Richard Guy Price, III, 63, of Sicily Island, 
LA will take place at 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Sicily Island United 
Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Hudson officiating and Rev. Jon Lord 
assisting, with interment to follow at Highland Park Cemetery, under the 
direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA.

Mr. Price, retired as a Game Warden with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries, 
was born on December 20, 1951 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away on July 2, 2015 
in Ferriday, LA. He attended school at Sicily Island from grades 1-12, 
graduating in the class of 1969. He was the starting center for Coach Raymond 
Peace when the team ran the Notre Dame box, which took them to a state 
championship game. He then obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture 
from Northeast Louisiana University. Richard lived life to the fullest being 
the jokester that he was. He fulfilled his days by being a devoted husband, 
father and grandfather, a professional hunter and outdoorsman, a cattleman and 
farmer, a master shooter, president of the Cattleman's Association, a faithful 
and enthusiastic Gideon and Justice of the Peace. Most importantly he was a 
member and lay leader at Sicily Island United Methodist Church and was very 
active in the Harrisonburg United Methodist church as well. He enjoyed story-
telling, including writing his "Shootin' the Breeze" column for various 
publications. Richard loved his country and was very patriotic.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret Ann Pearce Price; 
son, Richard "Ruff" Price IV of Sicily Island, LA; daughter, LeeAnn Moseley of 
St. George, SC; parents, R.G. Price, Jr. and Virginia Dent Price of Sicily 
Island, LA; grandchildren, Nathan Moseley, Kaylie Moseley, James "Tater" 
Moseley, Karlee Moseley, Jacob Moseley and Pamela Moore; brother, Robert Price 
and wife Sherry of Sicily Island, LA; sisters, Terrie "Blondie" Benson and 
husband Gary of Ocean Springs, MS and Jerri Price of Trout, LA.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Evans, Mike May, William Smith, Henry Rice, Jerry 
McGee, Steve Minton, Dennis Dosher and Henry Roy Krause.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Evans, George Evans, Boyd Padgett, Art Goode, 
Larry May, the 'Coffee Crew'-Lynn Vines, Robert White, Dallas Bass, Charles 
Phillips, Leslie Enright; Gideons of the Jonesville-Ferriday Camp and fellow 
wildlife agents, Johnnie Ferrington, Kenneth Hedrick and E.C. Meyers.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 
1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Church.
