PRICE Funeral services for Lena R. Price, 89, of Winnsboro will be held Friday, January 8, at 2 p.m. at Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at noon on Friday, January 8, prior to the service. Rev. Frances Guy will officiate, with interment to follow at Chase Cemetery. Lena was born October 1, 1926 and passed away on January 6, 2016 surrounded by family at her home in Winnsboro. Lena was born in Oak Grove and lived in Delhi before her family moved to Winnsboro in the early 1940s. She was a 1943 graduate of Winnsboro High School, and attended business college in Monroe following graduation. Lena was married for 59 years to her late husband, Paul P. Price, who passed away in 2009. She was a homemaker for most of her married life, as well as an accomplished artist who enjoyed hand painting special occasion cards for her friends and family. She also was a longtime member of the Garden Gate Study Club. Lena had a unique personality and spirit, and those close to her could share many stories of things she did and said, because she always made it clear where she stood on things. She loved her family very much, and was loved in return by those who knew her best. Lena had a great sense of humor, and family members and friends always had plenty to talk about when they gathered. Lena was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul P. Price; her parents, Mary and Adolph Radau; her daughter, Pamela Louise Price McWilliams, and an infant brother. Lena is survived by a son, Paul P. Price, Jr. and wife Lindy of Winnsboro; five grandchildren; Heather Price Jemerson and fiancé Randy Thornhill of Winnsboro; Emily McWilliams Palmer and husband John of West Monroe; "Trey" Price and wife Beth of Winnsboro; Maria McWilliams Tyler and husband Ryan of West Monroe; and Patrick McWilliams and wife Jordan of West Monroe. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Jemerson, Meagan and Mason Palmer, Camryn and Keegan Price, Pamela Blake Tyler, and Isabell, Alex and Zoey McWilliams. She is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Nikki Stewart of Winnsboro and Chris Lewis of Cullman, Alabama, and their families. Pallbearers will be Patrick McWilliams, John Palmer, Trey Price, Robert Stewart, Randy Thornhill, and Ryan Tyler. The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Combetta for his loving care and compassion over the past several years. He often went the extra mile to tend to her needs, and the family will be forever grateful. In addition, the staff at Franklin Medical Center provided her wonderful care during her later years. The family would also like to thank Lena's primary caregiver, Brittney Moses, for her care since September. Brittney's compassion and love for Lena will forever be remembered by her family. Additionally, the care given by her home health nurses and attendants over the past several years was of great comfort to Lena and her family and was greatly appreciated, particularly "Mrs. Rosie" Dickens, who always managed to wrangle a smile from her even on her worst days.
