Bubba Hoggatt officiating. Burial will be in Sweet Home Cemetery near Huttig, Arkansas under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Mr. Pridgen went to his heavenly home after 75 years 1 month and 2 days on February 23, 2016. He was a dedicated deacon of Marion First Baptist Church, always sacrificing to help others. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. Gene was always "doing fine" no matter what the circumstances were. He lovingly spoiled his pets like they were family, but always claimed they were "Troy's pets." He enjoyed joking and picking at everyone. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Fae Crowell Pridgen; parents, Minor Colvin and Nellie Louise Tarter Pridgen; and sister-in-law, Betty Jane Kennedy Pridgen. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Troy Gene Pridgen of Marion; 2 brothers: James C. Pridgen, Sr. of Marion and Carl Herman Pridgen & wife, Linda of Strong, AR; brother-in-law, Bill Crowell & wife, Gloria of Jasper, TX; aunt, Ruth Lum of Huttig, AR; uncle, James Paul Tarter & wife, Dot of Haile, LA; and numerous other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Franklin, Jimmy Dixon, Lucien Savage, Bobby Earl Hicks, Robert Gulley and Richard Towns. Honorary pallbearer will be John Green.
