VIVA PRUETT 

Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Viva Pruett, 90, are 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, 
2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Her son-in-law, Rev. Ray 
Owens, Jr. and Rev. William Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at 
Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral 
Home of West Monroe. Mrs. Pruett was born in Grayson, LA, on February 1, 1919 
and passed away January 1, 2010 at her home. She was a dedicated Registered 
Nurse, who trained at St. Francis Nursing School, and retired from Conway 
Hospital in 1984 and from the Ouachita Council on Aging about 1994. She was a 
long-time member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in Monroe. Mrs. Pruett was 
preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters, all born and 
reared in Caldwell Parish, LA. She is survived by three daughters, Melinda 
Jane Baxter, Nancy Lee Owens and husband Ray, Angela Kay Phillips and husband 
Billy; son, Marvin Jewell Pruett, Jr.; beloved grandchildren, Deborah Ann 
Caldwell and husband Elliot, James Andrew Baxter and wife Virginia McCuen, 
James Crawford Phillips, II (Jay) and wife Loraleigh, Matthew Garner Phillips 
and wife Kristi, Benjamin David Perkins and wife Jenny, Leigh Katherine 
(Katie) Glaeser and husband John, Jeremy Daniel Holtzer, Kevin J. Mitchell, 
and Carla Poston; great-grandchildren, Seth Daniel Holtzer, Ewan James Baxter, 
Grant Garner Phillips, Aedan Allen Glaeser, Tyler Quin Phillips, and Jonas 
Andrew Glaeser; and her much-loved nieces and nephews and their families. 
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
