Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Swartz. Mrs. Puckett passed away in her home on December 16, 2009. She was surrounded by family and will be greatly missed. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Puckett ran the family's convenience store for over twenty years; however, her real life's work was her family. Married to Gus Puckett for 40 years, the couple had 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great- grandchildren. The lifelong center of the family, Mrs. Puckett was very involved in the lives of all her family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gustavious "Gus" Adolphus Puckett; both sons, John S. Puckett and William "Billy" Puckett; her parents, Frank and Pearl Lee; and siblings, Helen Case, Lillie Belle Cheek, Josephine Bell, Margaret Gabriel, Delmar Lee, Bob Lee, Malvin Lee, Eugene Lee, William Lee, and Charles Lee. While the family has certainly suffered a great loss, they find great comfort in the fact that Mrs. Puckett was looking forward to her reunion with those she loved who went before her, most especially her husband, Gus, who has been deceased since 1978. Mrs. Puckett leaves her three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gerald Manuel of Slidell, Shirley and Quitman Funderburk of Anacoco, and Linda Beeson of Rockledge, FL; her grandchildren, Brenda Jean Patrick, Tammy Philley, Melissa Breland, Brian Puckett, Ty Puckett, Robbie Fergerson, Mary Jo LaCombe, Cheryl Ann Ross, Michael Beeson, and Michelle Beeson; and great grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Hunter, Haley, Emily, Wesley, Kenny, Braeden, Lavern, Frankie, Julia, Sylvia, Katarina, Zakkary, Briane, Kaylee, Tyler, and Callie. She is also survived by three brothers, Ed Lee of Swartz, Dan Lee of Bastrop, and Tommy Lee of Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jay Schroder, Kenny Ferguson, Hugh Allen Coleman, Todd Freeman, Jerry Philley, and Lonnie Norsworthy. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
