HERBERT O. PURDY

Funeral services for Herbert O. Purdy, 74, a retired U. S. Marine veteran of 21 
years will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the N. E. LA Veteran's 
Cemetery in Rayville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of 
Monroe.

Herbert was born on March 8, 1942 in Calhoun, LA and passed away on August 5, 
2016 in Monroe, LA. He was a former Harley Rider and police officer in North 
Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Celia Purdy; 
sisters, Margaret Purdy and Elouise Purdy and brothers, Ronnie Purdy and 
Charles Purdy.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Silsby and husband, Jack; son, Charles 
Kevin Purdy; grandson, Trey Pierce; sisters, Pearl Stevens, Dorothy Desadier, 
and Shirley Purdy; friend and caregiver, Shelia Andrews and her son, Andre; and 
CNA, Mona Montgomery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
