Olite Huff Ramsey, Our Little Cajun Moma, was born in south Louisiana on May 13, 1925 to Joseph and Rosa Romero, and passed away in West Monroe, LA on January 10, 2015. She went to school to learn how to speak English, because her first language was French. Olite had 4 sisters and 8 brothers, she being the babygirl. She worked at many different places during her years, a rice mill, shoe store, she drove a school bus, was a daycare provider and was also a Hostess at Chef Hans Restaurant. Mother taught us all how to care for people. She cooked the best, she cleaned like a machine, and always took care of the sick. She was a feisty little lady who told you what she thought. Honest she was. What you saw is what you got. Olite was funny without any effort. If you met her you loved that Little Cajun Moma. We all learned how to care for our Moma because of the respect and dedication she had for her mom. She married her dark haired, blue eyed soldier, Tommie L.Huff, Sr., and was married for 40 plus years. After his passing, she was lucky enough to have found love again with, James C. "Jim" Ramsey, with whom she acted like teenagers in love again. Both of her husbands preceded her in death along with her parents, her son, Tommie L. Huff, Jr. and her 3 sisters, and 8 brothers. Survivors include her children, Dianne Spurlock and husband, Ronnie, Ronnie Huff, Tammy Gable and husband, Mark, and Terri Spencer.; daughter-in-law, Joy Huff; sister, Della Bourque; step-son, Charles Ramsey and wife, Marge; grandchildren, Hope Sifuentes, Stephanie Eppinette, Marcus Huff, Taylor Huff, Salley Chadwick, Lauren Huff, Eli Gable, and Whitney Shell; step- grandchildren, Ryan and Patrick Anderson, Shoni Glascock and Justin Ramsey;7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mark Gable, Ronnie Spurlock, Marcus Huff, Eli Gable, Taylor Huff, and Alvin Romero. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 12, 2015 with a Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . We didn't want to give you up. We'll miss that smile on your face, but comforted are we by this thought, In Heaven you will take your place. Your Children with Love!
