JOHNNIE RUTH SAVAGE REEVES

Funeral Services for Johnnie Ruth Savage Reeves will be held at Edmonds 
Funeral Home in Jonesboro, Monday, July 2 at 10 A.M. and her burial will be at 
2 P.M. at Fairview Cemetery in Marion, LA the same afternoon with Rev. Malcolm 
Self, Father Mike Maxwell, and Jerry Tettleton officiating. Mrs. Reeves was 
born on October 19, 1923 in Jonesboro, LA and died on June 29, 2012. She is 
preceded in death by her parents, Ella Ruth Moffett Savage and John Wesley 
Savage, a son Rodney Dean Reeves, and her loving husband of 69 years, Ira Dean 
Reeves. She is survived by two sons; Alden Reeves and wife Adrane of 
Shreveport, LA, Ted Reeves and wife Ann of Jonesboro, LA; six grandchildren, 
Amy Reeves, Bo Reeves, Andy Reeves and wife Kylie, Katie Reeves, Chad Powell 
and wife Kacey, and Clay Powell and wife Brittany; eight great-grandchildren, 
Cody, Casey, and Colton Gordon, Drew Reeves, Alden Ann Reeves, Kaden 
McNaughton, Tessa Kate Reeves, and Smith Powell. Mrs. Reeves is also survived 
by a sister Oleta Haile, and a brother, John Savage. Mrs. Reeves spent much of 
her life working as a teller at the Jackson Parish Bank where she loved seeing 
her co-workers and making new friends each day. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, 
and outings with her family. She especially loved watching her sons, Alden and 
Ted play ball. She and Ira were always together and we know she is happy to be 
with him again! Pallbearers will be Andy Reeves, Bo Reeves, Chad Powell, Casey 
Gordon, Colton Gordon, Cody Gordon, Clay Powell, and Ricky McBride. Honorary 
pallbearer will be Rusty Haile.
