MARTHA ANN REID-SMITH

Martha Ann Reid-Smith, 77, retired special education teacher of 27 years from 
Ouachita Parish School System, residing in Point, Louisiana, died April 4, 2016 
at St. Francis Medical Center from complications of cancer.

Ann graduated Magna Cum Laude with masters plus 30 hours in Special Education 
from Northeast Louisiana University (currently ULM).

She was born October 15, 1938 in Century, Florida to Mary Estelle Covan Reid 
and Edgar Hugh Reid.

Ann is survived by her husband, Louis Eric Smith, siblings: sister, Wanda Sue 
Reid Kelly (spouse Philip Kelly) of Byrneville, FL, brother, Charles Edward 
Reid (deceased) (spouse Christine Folmar Reid) of Byrneville, FL. Children: 
Debbie Fuller (spouse James Fuller) of Stockton, CA, Melisa Ellington, Gary 
Johnson (spouse Lauren Laws Johnson) of West Monroe, LA, Michael Smith of 
Denham Springs, LA, Billy Smith of Ohio, Lisa Smith of Gray, LA and Maurice 
Smith of Thibodaux, LA. Twelve grandchildren. Thirteen Great-grandchildren. 
Many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and nephews.

Service to be Friday, April 8 at 2pm at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 792 LA-552, 
Downsville, LA 71234. Ann wished for her celebration to be casual dress.

Viewing is also Friday, April 8 from 12-2 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 792 LA-
552 Graveside service immediately following funeral.

Interment will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick 
Funeral Home of Monroe, LA.
