Monday, May 4, 2009 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe with Dr. E. Whit Holmes. Interment to follow in Tripp Cemetery in Arkansas City, Arkansas on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jody Gannaway officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Reitzammer was born March 30, 1917 in Arkansas City, AR. and died May 1, 2009 in West Monroe, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Helen Reitzammer, his beloved wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Hayton Hill Reitzammer, sons, George (Sam) Reitzammer, Phillip Reitzammer, brothers, Bill Reitzammer, Louis Reitzammer, stepson, Ray Hill. Survivors include son, Paul Reitzammer, Jr., stepdaughter, Jeanne Hill of Houston, Texas, daughter in law, Marian Reitzammer of Pensacola, FL., Dianne Reitzammer Latour of Maurice, LA. brothers, Ed Reitzammer of Memphis, TN., Pete Reitzammer (Bookie) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, sister in law, Juanita Reitzammer of Jackson, Tn. Also survived by numerous grand children, great grand children, nieces and nephews. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, where he served on the properties ministries team and a member of Men's Bible class. He was an employee of the US Army Corp of Engineers as a hydraulic engineer. During WWII, he helped build 80 ships working in the Electrical Department of the Engineering Department at Ingall's Ship Building Corp at Pascagoula, MS. He was formally chairman of Monroe Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Sub Station of Northeast, La. He retired as an Electrical Engineer for Columbian Chemical Company, Monroe, LA. Honorary Pallbearers will be Onie Hopkins and the Men's Bible Class, Parkview Baptist Church. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. on Sunday, May 3, 2009 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and residents of the Arbors & Terrace in West Monroe where Mr. Paul has resided for almost the last five years. They have been his family and friends and have taken great care of him. Love you all. The family would also like to thank the nursing staff in ICU at Glenwood Medical Center for taking great care of Mr. Paul and consideration of family members.
