ROBERTA A. REMILLARD

Roberta A. Remillard of Winnfield, formerly of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away 
peacefully on Friday December 18, 2015, at her residence. She was 96 years 
old.

She was born in Eunice, Louisiana, and graduated from Business College in 
Shreveport, Louisiana. She began a career as a court reporter at Barksdale Air 
Force Base where she met and married Donald W. Remillard, a young pilot from 
Massachusetts. She was president of the Officer's Wives Club, and was 
instrumental in organizing the Garden Club in her neighborhood.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was 
fondly known as "Prayer Warrior". She participated in Sharing Faith, Women's 
Club, and the Evangelistic Team. She will be remembered as an extraordinary 
spiritual person. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, 
great great grandmother, and friend, always giving love, time, and energy to 
all.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary D. Remillard (wife 
Ann), Vicki L. Rockett (husband David), and Michael W. Remillard (wife 
Vickie); seven grandchildren, Chris and Scott Remillard; Daniel, Brian, and 
Steven Rockett; Jason Accardo, and Julie Remillard; six great grand children, 
Reyna, Aleyna, Dominic, Mason, Jaxon, and Michaela, and one great great 
grandchild, Kade; and extended family member, Margie Rainwater.

She was predeceased in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Donald W. Remillard, and 
her daughter Sandra Jeanne Remillard, brother Dr. Gordon L. Rasberry, and her 
sister Bellva Lois Harris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Roberta A. Remillard at 
11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic 
Church in Winnfield, Louisiana, with Father Christian Ogbonna. Interment will 
follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. under 
the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Visitation will be at Our 
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m, with a Rosary beginning at 10:45 
a.m.

Pall bearers will be Chris Remillard, Scott Remillard, Daniel Rockett, Brian 
Rockett, Steven Rockett, and David Herring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic 
Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
