REYNOLDS Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. Tommy J. Reynolds, 73, of Monroe, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Solomon and Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Reynolds was born October 13, 1935 in Rosedale, MS to Grace Viola Nicholson Reynolds and Tom Jackson Reynolds and passed away Friday, March 20, 2009. Tommy grew up on Refuge Plantation in Washington County, MS. He fulfilled a dream of becoming a pilot and after high school learned to fly at Abide Aero in Greenville, MS, and soon moved to Monroe to fly pipeline for McMahon Aviation. He later went to work for Ford, Bacon and Davis, where he began his corporate aviation career. Tommy's aviation career spanned over forty years, where he maintained and flew all types of corporate aircraft. He was also instrumental in spreading his love of flying to numerous young pilots who have gone on to have successful careers in aviation. After flying, he held positions with Petroleum Helicopter and Boeing Aircraft Company before leaving aviation. Of all his projects, his greatest accomplishment was his family. His love for his wife was evident in the way in which he wouldn't leave her side when her health was failing. His presence will be missed; however his spirit will live in each of us. Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Viola and Tom Jackson; wife, Dorothy Watkins Reynolds; son, Mark Anthony Reynolds; brother, Charles Reynolds; sister, Clara Reynolds Born. Survivors include his children, Thomas Dwayn Reynolds and wife Chyleen, David Allen Reynolds and wife Blanche, Marilyn Reynolds Bryant and husband Steve, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Reynolds Cathey and husband Tom; grand children, Erica Crystal Reynolds, Mark Colby Reynolds, Thomas Jared Reynolds, Bailie Jordan Bryant, Tyler Kale Reynolds, Tom Jackson Reynolds, Mark Mattison Reynolds, and Anna-Beth Bryant; sister, Vivian Reynolds Marchett. Tommy had a deep devotion to his church and church family that was clearly evident in his everyday walk. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are the members of the pastor's class at Lea Joyner United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
