She died suddenly January 8, 2010 at her home. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, David Richardson. She is survived by one son, Royce Richardson; her brother and sister-in-law, Harold Gene and Ruby Linzay; her niece, Ramona Davis; numerous first and second cousins; and several close friends. Bonnie's life was defined by her deep belief in the necessity and power of work to give beauty, joy, and meaning to life. The ability to get up every day to the day of her death and go to work was a cause for Thanksgiving, the ability to help other people from her work was a Christmas. The promise of Easter was that one day, she could lay the burden down and rest and not mind doing so. In that sense, she is also survived by her two employers of a combined forty-seven years; Dr. Max M. Funderburk and Dr. John Snuggs, pediatric dentists. The family would like to express its gratitude to Dr. Craig Turner, family practitioner, and his staff for their diligent efforts to keep Bonnie moving, working, and thus, happy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery at Bastrop, LA. Pallbearers will be Doug Erwin, James Barron Perry and Chad Day. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John Snuggs, and Dr. Max Funderburk. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Monday, January 11, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. " No matter what you do, work at it with all your might." Ecclesiates 9:10 (NIrV) "They should be happy and do good while they live. I know there's nothing better for them to do than that. Everyone should eat and drink. People should be satisfied with all of their hard work. That is God's gift to them." Ecclesiastes 3:12,13 (NIrV) You have done well, good, and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!
