Alice Rickerson, 89, of Alexandria, passed from this life on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at her residence. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alexandria and sang with the churches choir "The Joy Makers", at Nursing Homes. During her working career she was a Legal Secretary and the President of the Alexandria Legal Secretaries Club. Following her retirement, she was a member of the Lunch Brunch Club. Alice enjoyed traveling statewide and taking Worldwide Cruises, but her greatest joy was her grandson, Stanton, whom she loved dearly. She would take him with her on some of her cruises and he took very good care of her and they enjoyed their time together. She is preceded in death by her husbands, George Murray Cruse I and Roy Rickerson; sons, Charles Cruse and George Murray Cruse II; parents, Charles and Lois King Richardson and a sister, Janice Morgan. Alice is survived by her brother, Emmett Earl Richardson and wife, Mary Frances; grandson, George Stanton Cruse and wife, Angela Zhou; sister, Linda Lively; a host of other family members and friends and her beloved cat, Miss Rosie. Her grandson, Stanton Cruse and the family, would like to extend a "heartfelt thanks" to all of the sitters who provided excellent care for Grandma over the past several years.
