Roger Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mr. Rigal was born May 5, 1924 and departed this life on April 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Jim served in WWII from 1943 - 1946 in the United States army, 43rd Division, 172nd Infantry in New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan. He was awarded the Bronze Star - post-decoration November 28, 1984 in the ASIS-Pacific Theater operation. He was a member of the Post 13 American Legion, V.F.W., Gideon's International, and Cedar Crest Baptist Church. He served as a volunteer for RSVP and Glenwood Regional Medical Center for many years. Fishing was his hobby. His family was his passion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Rigal and Minnie Harrison Valdez, and by his first wife Anita Gardner Rigal. He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Jim, Jr. and Kay Rigal of West Monroe, Linda Rigal and Gary Branch of Holly Ridge, and Patti Rigal of West Monroe; grandchildren, Devin and Dawn Branch, Kala Branch Parks, Chad and Karen Rigal, Jay and Tiffany Rigal, and Julianne Branch Paille; great-grandchildren, Jayda, Larkin, Carson, Alyssa, Kaylee, LeeAnn, Emma, Lorelai, Lillibeth, and James; step-son, Jack Fiscus and wife Kasey of Orlando, Florida; step grandchildren, Trenton and Tori; brothers Doll Gunter and Johnny Gunter; sister Nancy Cushing; brother-in-law Ralph J. Greene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Percy A. Ford, Jr., Dr. Bill Baker, Bud Wilhite, Ron Ellis, Dickie Shell, and Harvey Black. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Fewell, Sr, Dr. Ron Hammett, Dr. Don Hammett, and Chris Sasser. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the physicians and nurses in ICU at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Memorials may be sent to Gideon's International, P.
