WILLIAM R. (BILLY) RISER

Funerals by McFarland

Delhi, LA

Graveside services were held for William R. Riser of Crowville, LA on November 
17, 2008 at the Netherland-Riser Annex of the Philadelphia Baptist Church 
Cemetery at Crowville , La., Bishop Rodney McFarland, Sr., pastor of the 
Greater Free Gift Baptist Church of Monroe officiated with Dr. Keith Dowden, 
pastor of the First Baptist Church of Crowville, assisting.

Billy was born March 6, 1942 in Crowville and died at home on November 15, 
2008 surrounded by family. He was an inspector for McManus consulting 
engineers of Monroe, and a lifelong carpenter.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl Netherland-Riser; Three sons, 
Darryl Riser, of Mangham, Don Riser of Crowville, and Dale Riser and wife 
Emily Smith Riser of Greenwood, Mississippi; Grandchildren, Emily Kate Riser 
of Harrell, Arkansas and Ana Jane and Williams Smith Riser of Greenwood, 
Mississippi; one sister, Mildred Cruz of Blanchard and two brothers, Denson 
Riser, of Shreveport and Troy Riser of Winnsboro. He was preceeded in death by 
two brothers, Faye Riser and Oneal Riser.

Billy's unique spirit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

Honorary Pallbearers were Warren Netherland, Tim Pylant, Steven Pylant, and 
Nick Greer.

The family wishes memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the 
Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe. The Family extends a special 
thank you to the staffs of Glenwood Regional Medical Center and Patient's 
Choice Hospice.
