THOMAS MELVIN RISER

Funeral Services for Thomas Melvin Riser, 78, of West Monroe will be held at
10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home
with Reverend Cecil Herrington officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley
Cemetery in West Monroe.

Thomas "Tom" Riser was born March 20, 1935 in Ouachita Parish. Surrounded by his
family, he passed away January 11, 2014. Preceding him in death are his parents,
Melvin Thomas and Margaret Ortis Riser and sisters, Marjorie Dunn and Louise Danna.

His survivors include his wife, Mary Catherine Medaries Riser; sons, Melvin
Thomas Riser and wife, Minna, Michael Hansford Riser and wife, Terri, Mark Allen
Riser and wife, Harriet and Matthew Christopher Riser and wife, Erica; his
grandchildren, Maya, Asha, Ethan, Seth, Peter, Helen and Dalton; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

Tom Riser was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. His family meant
everything to him and he was known for his immense patience, especially when it
came to raising his four boys to be lifelong outdoorsmen. He spent hours
"shopping" without ever complaining and often drove his wife, children, extended
family and friends on long road trips just to be with them. His reasonable,
balanced and evenhanded personality made him a sought after source of advice and
guidance to many.

Tom retired from Riverwood after thirty-five years. He enjoyed feeding his feral
cats and collected coats, hats and a variety of new and old guns over the years;
he was a life-long National Rifle Association member. However, most of all, he
loved his wife, sons and daughters-in-law. He will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Andy Danna, David Danna, Toby Danna, Greg Whittington, Seth
Riser and Peter Riser. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ethan Riser.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 14, 2014
at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
