Rev. Danny Kilcoyne and Rev. James Doughty will officiate. Interment will follow at Owens Memorial Park in Ruston, La. Visitation will be at the church from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, September 4, 2016 . Cubbie was born September 20, 1929 in Atlanta, GA. He went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2016. Mr. Roane grew up in Atlanta and graduated from North Fulton High School. He had a long and successful professional accounting career in Texas with Menasco Aerospace and the United States Government General Services Administration. Cubbie was preceded in death by his parents Herschel and Muzette Roane, and one brother, Robert E. Roane; and one stepson, Larry D. Houston. Survivors include his loving wife, Margie Houston Roane; one son, Herschel Roane; one brother, Richard A. Roane and wife, Mary Jo Roane; one sister, Virginia Brawner and husband, Dr. William Brawner; two devoted stepsons, Joe White; and Ed White and wife, Susan White; two very caring stepdaughters, Susan Kilcoyne and husband, Rev. Danny Kilcoyne; and Ruthie Hughes, widow of Dr. Copper Hughes; six nephews, one niece, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Cubbie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, downtown Monroe, serving as a greeter, yolkfellow, and on the finance committee. He was a Veteran, being honorably discharged in 1954, after having served four years in the United States Air Force. Pallbearers will be Gene Crim, Ray Gambino, Mike Hartt, Dr. Brad Johnson, John McCoy, Glen Roundtree, and honorary Pallbearer Ben Bradford. Memorials may be made to One Heartbeat Renovation Fund or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering of First Baptist Church, downtown Monroe.
