Services for James Edgar Roberts, 87, of Alto, LA, was at 2 p.m. Thursday, 
December 4, 1997 at Alto Baptist Church, Alto, LA with Rev. David Shirley 
officiating. Burial was in Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, LA.

Mr. Roberts died December 2, 1997 at Richardson Medical Center. Mr. Roberts was 
a member of Alto Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: John 
Mabon and Lola Roberts; four brothers: Ervin Roberts, Walter Roberts, Marshall 
Roberts, Alfred Roberts; and a sister: Vera Roberts Burkett.

Survivors include his wife: Willie Harper Roberts of Alto; four daughters and 
sons-in-law: Robin and Milton"Pero" Stuart of Swartz, Patti and Charles Carter 
of Alto, Vicki and Jimmy Styles of West Monroe, Lola Lynn Roberts of Alto; nine 
grandchildren; four sisters: Ethel R. Irby of Delhi, Edna R. Crotwell of 
Monroe, Maudell R. smith of Alto, Dixie R. Mon of Meridian, MS; two sisters-in-
law: Myrtle Roberts of Monroe, Evelyn Roberts of West Monroe; and a host of 
nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Wesley Roberts, Randy Smith, William "Boogie" Roberts, Rodney 
Moon, John Roberts, Jim Crotwell, Jr., and James Drewry. In lieu of flowers, 
memorials may be made to the Alto Baptist Church.
