Thomas Peoples officiating, with interment to follow in South Central Cemetery-Wisner, LA under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA Visitation will be 5-8 PM Monday, June 22, 2015 at the funeral home. Mr. Roberts, a member of Wisner First Baptist Church and a retired air condition contractor as well as owner of Ray's Service Center, was also a World War II United States Army Air force veteran. He was born Dec. 20, 1927 in Gilbert, LA and passed from this temporary earthly estate to the Glories of Heaven, Saturday June 20, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose Ransom Roberts and Bertha Belcher Roberts, his wife, Marie Curington Roberts, daughter, Janice Jordan, great grandson, Austin Layne Moore, as well as 6 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his three daughters, Linda Simms and her husband Larry of Wisner, LA Sandra Roberts of Crowley, Patricia Stevens and her husband David of Wisner, LA ; brother, Harry Roberts and his wife Sue of West Monroe, LA; sister-in-law Nellie Curington of Chase, LA and a brother-in-law Gerald Curington of Wisner, LA Special Friend Pam Legros; grandchildren, Danny Ray Moore, Kasey Haygood, Ashley Simms, Donna Eldridge, Leigh Stevens, Myles Stevens and Marice Rhodes; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ritchie Boles, Vernon Curington, Steve Stephens, Jimmy Roberts, Todd Roberts and Robert Bass. Honorary Pallbearers R.V. Arnold, W. G. Arnold, W.H. Roach, J.M. Calhoun, Billy Aymond, Burton Boles and his other coffee drinking buddies.
