She was 92. Mrs. Roberts was born on January 5, 1925 in Coushatta, LA. After graduating fr from high school, she attended business school in Shreveport, LA. She then went to to work for Southern Bell Telephone Company where she met Elton Roberts. They we were married in August 1947 and were married for 56 years. She was an active me member of Parkview Baptist Church where she taught children's Training Union an and worked in the church nursery for many years. Mrs. Roberts is preceded in death by her husband, Elton, and her son, Douglas. She is survived by daughters Gwen Laney and husband, Jack, Kathleen Smith and husband, Colby, and son Allan Roberts. She has six grandchildren, Saige, Austin, Cayce, Josh, Chris and Hannah; four great grandchildren, and one great great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26th at 10:00 am at Mulhearn Fu Funeral Home, 300 McMillan Road, West Monroe, LA. Reverend Ricky Baker will of officiate. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held from 5:00P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, 7200 DeSaird Street, Monroe, LA.71203. Pallbearers will be Josh Roberts, Colby Smith, Chris Smith, Jack Laney, Rick Snead and Bertly Hay. The family would like to thank the staff at The Rosemont Assisted Living in West West Monroe and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for their exceptional and lovi loving care of our Mother.
