Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, September 13, 2014, at the church. Violet was born on May 27, 1931 in Sikes to Bill and Arah Womack. Violet was introduced to the love of her life, Bill Robertson, by her brother-in-law. At the time she was a telephone operator for Southern Bell in Lake Providence. Bill, who was also employed by Southern Bell would meet her at work to walk her home. Not having a car, with the cold wind at their back, they would often walk backward. Violet married her sweetheart on October 21, 1950. Thus began a love story which is a legacy for her children and grandchildren. Only heaven knows the lives she and her precious Bill touched serving in the nursery at Oak Grove Baptist Church and Temple Baptist Church. They cared for children in their home through the ministry God called them to. They were faithful to their Lord and each other. Nanny was happiest when she was outside in her yard working with her flowers. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who she called "the prize in her crackerjack box", her precious granddaughter Jennifer and her sister Mavis O'Rourke. She is survived by three sons, Bill Robertson, Jr. and wife Linda, Bobby Robertson and wife Kathy, and Darrell Robertson and his wife Terri. Also survived by her only daughter, Suzana. She leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Trey and wife Staci, Amy Clark and husband Adam, John and wife Sunni, Bryan and wife Jocelyn, Alex Robertson, Cameron Robertson, Zach Robertson, and Zadiee Robertson. Her great grandchildren Will Robertson, Alexis Clark, Brett Robertson, Aiden Clark, Carter John Robertson and Delilah Robertson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved her family dearly. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons: Bryan Robertson, Alex Robertson, Cameron Robertson, John Robertson, Zach Robertson, Will Robertson, and Adam Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Robertson, J. V. Cain, Jerry Crain, Brett Robertson, and Aiden Clark.
