JERRY" ROBISON OWENS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME RUSTON, LA Funeral services for Mr. Jerreld D. " Jerry" Robison age 75, of Quitman, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with the Rev. Mike Millstead, Rev. Wayne Morrow and Rev. Charles Lutrick officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion cemetery in Clay under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Robison was born on August 28, 1933 in Vernon to the union of Zack Edward Robison and Eva Mae Hightower. He died on January 12, 2009 in Shreveport. Mr. Robison's passions were tending to his horses, riding his tractor, working on mechanical things, Rodeos, watching bull riding and farming and gardening. He loved visiting with folks and never met a stranger. He was also very supportive of his grandchildren and attended their activities. Mr. Robison was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Robison is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nelda Edmiston Robison; his children: Deanna Ortego & husband Bill, Michelle Shively & husband Matt all of Ruston, Jeffrey Robison & wife Melinda of Jena; seven grand children: Alyssa Ortego Trippe & husband Dylan, Adam Ortego, Matthew Ortego, Natalie Ortego, Collin Shively, Emma Mae Shivley and Abigail Robison. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Pallbearers will be Adam Ortego, Matthew Ortego, Chad Bates, Allen Hanna, Cleeve Robison and Tommy Johns. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
