Margarette Miller Rohner passed away at 4:15 AM, on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at her daughter and son-in-law's home in Livingston. She was 101 years old. She was born on May 19, 1907, a native of St. Helena Parish and resided in Baton Rouge and Livingston, LA. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 9:00 AM until funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 PM conducted by Rev. Don Bassett. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. She was a kind, gentle, Christian woman with many talents and interests that included cooking and quilting. With tales and antidotes of her bygone days she was able to hold a gathering of young people spellbound. She enjoyed camping and visited much of America with her daughter and son-in-law. Bible study with her extended family at Red Oak Baptist Church in Livingston was one of her passions. She lived her life on the promise and comfort of her favorite Bible verse, John 14:2&3, " In my Father's house there are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am ye may also be." She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rohner Watts and her husband, Clarence of Livingston; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Vickers Rohner of Monroe; two granddaughters, Karen Thompson Boatner and her husband, Chip of Conway, AR and Monica Rohner Lockhard and her husband, Bo of Shreveport; three grandsons, Donnie Thompson and his wife, Eileen of Picayune, MS, Roy "Andy" Thompson and his wife, Debbie of Mandeville and David Thompson and his wife, Heidi of Baton Rouge; one step-granddaughter, Noel Watts Turnage and her husband, Pete of Livingston; two step-grandsons, Micha Watts of Livingston and John Watts and his wife, Kristin of Canton, GA, fifteen great-grandchildren and special niece, Sue Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Rohner; her son, Charles Rohner; son-in-law, Donald Thompson; her parents, Lucy Chapman Miller and Seymore Miller. Pallbearers will be Donnie Thompson, Andy Thompson, David Thompson, Chip Boatner, Bo Lockhard and Micha Watts. Honorary pallbearers will be David Albin, John Watts and Pete Turnage.
