PAUL ANTHONY ROONEY

Paul Anthony Rooney, a native of Nashville, Tennessee, and a resident of 
Monroe since 2001, died on May 3, 2014. He was 92 years old.

He was a former insurance executive, having worked as a manager for the Sentry 
Insurance Group and as president of Rooney-Herndon and Associates, Inc., an 
insurance firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to his retirement, he was a 
Bank Examiner for the State of Louisiana. He was a member of Jesus the Good 
Shepherd Catholic Church. A Veteran of World War II, he attained the rank of 
Major, and was a former Mason and a Shriner.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Patricia Ruth Krupp, five 
children. Kathleen Canavello (Doug), of Summerfield, North Carolina, Barbara 
Pendragon (Ron) of Kapaa, Hawaii, Carol Warren (Randy) of Monroe, Louisiana, 
Kevin Rooney (Karen) of Meridian, Mississippi, and Stephen Rooney (Nancy) of 
Champaign, Illinois, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd, 
Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for family and close friends. The family 
will greet friends from 10:30 until services at 11:00.
