Jay George officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas Cemetery in Choudrant, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Amy is survived by husband, Keith Rowley; son, Drew Willis and his wife Ally; daughters, Bailey Willis and Kady Rowley; parents, Larry and Bonnie Brakefield; sister, Kathy Sowell and husband Guinn and their son, Tucker. Pallbearers will be Tyler Boyd, Todd Brakefield, Benji Dumas, Bobby Edmiston, Jack Edmiston, Jr., Blane Haygood, Jay Humble, and Jason Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tab Haygood and members of the faculty and staff of Jack Hayes Elementary School. Amy was a second grade teacher at Jack Hayes Elementary School. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and an alumna member of Alpha Omicron Pi. Throughout her life, Amy touched others by her presence. Those who had the privilege of knowing Amy have described her as humble, selfless, precious, unassuming, the sweetest, the most kind - an absolute angel on earth. She fought a courageous battle with breast cancer and in doing so never wavered in her faith as a child of God. When faced with the knowledge that her fight was coming to an end, Amy steadfastly told others, "I know where I'm going." In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to advance their efforts in reducing the incidence of breast cancer through education and research. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, July 11, 2014, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Our family wishes to thank the many friends, health care professionals, Hospice of Caring Hearts, members of North Monroe Baptist Church, and especially the Jack Hayes Elementary School family for their constant support of Amy. Meals, cards, flowers, prayers, and personal visits made such a difference to Amy during her life's journey. We can never fully express our gratitude for your care and concern.
