Interment will be held at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, Louisiana, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Russell passed away peacefully Friday, December 12, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Russell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Russell was in charge of Social Services at LTI; he was a Liaison Officer between the courts and Swanson Institute. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mr. Russell was an avid golfer. He loved sports and was a sports writer for the Shreveport Journal. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James M. and Ethel Russell; brothers, James McCampbell Russell and Roy Russell; and his nephew, James McCampell Russell III. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Russell; his daughter, Kathleen Amy Burns; his granddaughters, Aimee Ainsworth and Amber Ainsworth; his great granddaughters, Ryleigh, Maddie, Adalyn and Audrey; grandsons, Nathan and Michael; and his niece, Leigh Russell Nolan. Pallbearers will be John Buttita, Lance Sims, Randy Thomisee, Lewis Ford, Bobby R. Dunavant, and Rodney Shean. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Choir, Gray Stephens, Lee Pankey, Stewart Novak, Mercer King, and Louis Bedell. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2014, with a vigil wake at 6:00 PM. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Charlotte and Hospice Family Alliance. Memorials may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, St. Bonaventure Indian Missions and School, or Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
