LOLA LEOLA TONEY RUSSELL

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lola Toney Russell, 97, of West Monroe, LA will be 
held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral 
Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating. Interment will 
follow at Holly Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Holly Ridge, LA.

Lola Toney Russell was born November 25, 1918 and passed away surrounded by her 
loving family on May 29, 2016. She was a homemaker and loving mother, 
grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Lola was a 
fantastic cook and prepared many meals for her family. She also shared her 
faith and love for the Lord. Lola loved her family here on earth but was 
prepared to meet her Lord and Savior. John 11:25 says, "Jesus said to her, I am 
the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even 
though they die."

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Russell; parents, Dan 
and Janie Toney; son, L. J. Russell; 3 sisters; and 7 brothers.

Survivors include her son, James Elvin Russell, Sr. and wife Sandra of Monroe, 
LA; daughter-in-law, Barbara Pennington Russell of Petal, MS; sister, Alma 
Toney Carroll of Ashdown, AR; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great-
great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tony Russell, Thomas Russell, Jay Russell, Tony Knight, 
Christopher Wren and David Freeman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Berry, Taylor Russell, Deryl Cole, and Dylan 
Russell.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until Service Time on Wednesday.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Shafiei and the doctors and 
nurses from Cornerstone Hospital for all of the love and care they provided.

Memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church of West Monroe, LA or to the 
River Cities Humane's Society.
