NORA BRAKEFIELD SACKMAN

Nora Brakefield Sackman was born in Monroe, AR on February 24, 1921, and 
went to be with her Lord on March 2, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her 
family.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, 
March 5, 2017 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with 
Rev. Calvin Stapp officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Methodist 
Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mrs. Sackman and her husband, James were founding members of Evangel Temple 
in Monroe, LA where she attended for over 25 years. Nora was a loving and 
devoted wife to her husband, James G. Sackman, Sr. for 62 years prior to his 
death in March 2007. She graduated with a Business Degree from Northeast 
Louisiana State College. In 1961, she and her husband started Brakefield-
Sackman Insurance Agency. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great 
grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Survivors: four children, Kay Sackman Takewell of Biloxi, MS, James G. 
Sackman, Jr. of West Monroe, LA, Bobby L. Sackman and wife, Celeste of 
Benton, LA and Christy Sackman Williams and husband, Tim of West Monroe, LA; 
grandchildren, Tiffany Takewell Franklin and her 5 children, Jackie Dollins 
Tichenor and husband, Wes and their 3 children, Jenni Dollins Gomila and 
husband, Billy and their daughter, and Ian Dollins and wife, Jennifer.

Pallbearers will be Wes Tichenor, Ian Dollins, Billy Gomila, Matthew 
Williams, Dustin Sackman, and Jack Dollins, Jr.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Saturday, March 4, 2017 
at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and 
staff in ICU at Glenwood Hospital and to the staff of First Choice Hospice.
