She was born Mar. 31, 1923 in Wellesley, MA. She grew up in Needham, MA and suffered the tragic loss of her father Francis Oliver Haddock when he, a police officer for Needham, was shot and killed incident to a bank robbery, less than two months before her eleventh birthday. A graduate of Sacred Heart High School of Newton, she subsequently became a registered nurse graduated by the Carney School of Nursing in 1944 and worked for the then-U.S. Public Health Service in locations as varied as New York City, Buffalo, and Savannah, GA. Returning to Needham in 1951, she worked in area hospitals while pursuing a B.S. in Nursing at Boston College, graduating in 1953 whereupon she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base, San Francisco, she met and subsequently married on Veterans Day, 1955, Ronald Dennis Sadow. After they were discharged from active duty, she worked in a variety of private sector nursing positions until about a year before the birth of her children. After they had departed for college she moved to Monroe, LA in 1985 where she lived until 2008. There, she was an active parishioner of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and member of the Newcomers Club. The last year of her life she lived in Shreveport. Throughout her life she loved reading and enjoyed contemplation about and discussion of subjects ranging from history to politics to literature to philosophy, although her favorites were religious history, philosophy, and theology. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Ronald Dennis Sadow, her sisters Mary Florence Haddock Barnicle, Dorothy Frances Haddock Pratt, Phyllis Teresa Haddock Murphy; her mother Helen Frances Callanan Haddock; and her father Francis Oliver Haddock. She is survived by her son Jeffrey Dennis Sadow and his wife Deshae Elizabeth Lott Sadow of Bossier City, LA and her son Jonathan Carl Sadow of Austin, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations are recom-mended to the Cardinal Newman Society, 9415 West Street, Manassas, VA 20110. A funeral mass will be celebrated for her at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2510 Emerson St., Monroe, LA on Mar. 20 at 2:00 PM.
