GUS PETE JR. SALINAS


Funeral Services for Gus Pete Salinas, Jr, 72, of West Monroe will be held 
10:00 A.M. Friday, May 2, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West 
Monroe, LA with Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn 
Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Salinas was born September 17, 1941 and passed away in his home surrounded 
by his family on April 30, 2014. He was a previous owner of "The Original" 
West Monroe Coney Island and served in the United States Army as a company 
clerk in Huntsville, AL. He loved spending time with his family, eating 
crawfish, and watching sports, especially basketball, football and wrestling. 
Mr. Salinas is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Laura Salinas, Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Janie Salinas; children, Sharon 
Salinas Poindexter and husband, Tracy, James Salinas and wife, Rhonda, Misty 
Stokes and fiancé, Chuck Bradberry and Brandy Meredith; grandchildren, Anna 
Poindexter, Jay Poindexter, Cameron Salinas, Dustin Salinas, Lindsey McBride, 
John David McBride, Brittany Stokes, Pacey Bradberry, Skylar Bradberry, Steven 
Meredith, Jr, Baylea Meredith and Mallory Meredith; great grandchild, Justin 
Brown; siblings, Joe Salinas and wife, Dianne, Laura Ann Baldwin and husband, 
Phillip and David Salinas and wife, Mary Ann; and numerous nieces, nephews and 
a host of friends and other family.

Pallbearers will be John McBride, Jeremy Perkins, Steven Meredith, Jr, Ray 
Bradberry, Chris Williamson and Joel Correro.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 1, 2014 
at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
