WILLIE MAE WORTEN SARTOR

Willie Mae Wroten Sartor died Friday, November 14, 2014 in Monroe after a 
lengthy illness. She was 85. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m, Wednesday, 
November 19, 2014, in the Chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, 
Monroe, with Rev. John Albright officiating. Interment will follow in the Alto 
Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Alto, Louisiana under the direction of Mulhearn 
Funeral Home of Monroe. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 
Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Mary Ethel W. Hogan; her sister-in-law, 
Clara Jo (CJ) Sartor and her husband Brian Sivils; her nieces and nephews, Mrs. 
Maureen Brennan Gershanik and her husband Alex; and their children Sophia, 
Thomas, and Katie; Thomas J. Hogan, Jr. and his wife Lila; and children Liz, 
Jane, Rachel and David; Marianne H. Nsour and children, Faisal, Rami, Faris, 
Lucy-Zayne, and Amalee; Susan H. Schepens and her husband Roy; and children 
Cissy, Pat, and Clare; Michael S. Hogan, Jerome K. Hogan and his wife, Gina; 
and children Ryan and Kelly; Martin E. Hogan and children Angela and Olivia; 
Denis O. Hogan and children, Carrie McAlister and John R. Hogan; Philip G. 
Hogan and daughter Sophia; 18 grand nieces and nephews and 13 great-grand 
nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert E. and Frances Guyton Wroten 
of Crowville, LA; her husband, William T. Sartor, Jr.; her sister, Hazel W. 
Brennan and husband Charles R. Brennan; her sister, Gloria Ann Wroten; brother-
in-law, Thomas J. Hogan, Sr.; and nephews Patrick A. Hogan and Salameh Nsour.

Despite surviving polio at age 18 months and dealing with its lifelong effects, 
Mrs. Sartor lived a triumphant life. She graduated from Crowville High School 
and attended business college before embarking on a career in the Louisiana 
Department of Transportation and Development. Entering as a steno clerk, she 
retired after 48 years of service there as the Human Resource Analyst for the 
district, and was the first recipient of the Employee of the Quarter Award in 
District 5. Mrs. Sartor was also active with the YWCA in Monroe, and was a 
member of Alto Presbyterian Church. Her talents included baking, needlepoint 
and crochet, and she generously created many gifts for those she loved.

Pallbearers include Brian Sivils, Ryan Sartor, III, Dr. Walter Sartor, Will 
Sartor, Tommy Hogan, Mike Hogan, Martin Hogan, and Philip Hogan.

The family wishes to convey their deepest gratitude to Frances Sumner and 
Sharon Staten for their years of loving kindness and excellent care for Mrs. 
Sartor and her faithful companion Zoey; and to Anita Holdiness, her family, and 
Professional Senior Care Management for advice, support, and counsel. Special 
thanks also to Dr. Owen Meyers and Amedisys Home Health Services.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the Alto Presbyterian Church or the Alto 
Presbyterian Church Cemetery fund at P. O. Box 2466, Monroe, Louisiana.
