RICHARD PIERCE SAVACOOL

Rose-Neath Funeral Home

Minden, LA

Funeral services will be held for Richard Pierce Savacool, 72 at Rose-Neath 
Funeral Home, Minden, Louisiana on Tuesday December 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with 
Reverend Harry Boyd (nephew of the deceased) officiating. Entombment will be in 
Gibsland, Louisiana cemetery.

Mr. Savacool was born June 5, 1936 in Homer, Louisiana to Clay Boyd Bowers and 
Mary Bennett Bowers. He entered into death on December 19, 2008 at home.

Mr. Savacool was self-employed for 40 years at Savacool Concrete Products. He 
was employed at Calumet Refinery in Princeton, Louisiana as Guard Supervisor 
for the past 15 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Minden 
Calvary Baptist Church. In his spare time, he loved to garden and took 
particular pride in his rosebushes and his tomato plants.

Mr. Savacool was preceded in death by his adopted parents William D. and Alma 
Burt Savacool and his adopted sister Billye Dunn.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Mary Jo Savacool and one daughter, Mandy 
C. Savacool. Three sisters, Marie Sanford, Charlotte Colquette and her husband 
Jerrell, Linda Chism and her husband Ronnie, two adopted sisters Nelda 
Richardson and Mary Stewart and an adopted brother Cecil Savacool and his wife 
Nellie. Two nieces Rhonda Savacool Cox and her husband Randall and Cee Simmons 
and her husband Gordon and numerous other nieces and nephews.
