Abraham Chiramukhathu officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Scalia was born on January 10, 1943 in Monroe, LA passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013. Joe was a graduate of St. Matthew High School, attended LSU, and a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He served in the United States Air Force. Joe was an avid New Orleans Saints and LSU fan and a member of the "Who Dat Nation". He was also the manager of Sports City Grill. Mr. Scalia was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine Scalia; father-in-law, Paul Fontana; and sister-in-law, Paula F. Graves. Survivors include his devoted wife, Margaret Fontana Scalia; daughter, Morgan Scalia Wisenbaker and husband Ben; granddaughter, Alexus Scalia; sons, Joey Scalia and wife Sherry, Jeff Scalia and wife Christy; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Savannah; sisters, Maria Scalia, Rita Scalia Baillie and husband Dale; mother-in-law, Margaret Fontana; sister-in-law, Rosie F. Wilkinson and husband David; brothers-in-law, Johnny Fontana and wife Kathy, Louis Fontana and wife Lia; numerous nieces and nephews, and grand-dogs, Belle, Avie, and Boone. Pallbearers will be Austin Baillie, Jonathan Fontana, S. J. Fontana, Trey Funderburg, John Scott, Jordy Fontana, and Michael Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be, Sonny Miletello, Dabo Graves, Ralph Funderburg, and Paul Gates. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Memorials may be made to St. Frederick High School.
