Robert Nathan "Bob" Schendle died unexpectedly on October 21, 2015. A fun-loving and devoted family man, faithful and hilarious, he was one- of-a-kind and simply irreplaceable. Bobby, as he was known to his family, was born September 11, 1946, to Joseph Morris and Miriam Seligman Schendle in Bastrop, Louisiana. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1964, attended Louisiana State University, and received his business degree from Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) in 1969. That same year, on Halloween night, he married the love of his life Kathy, whom he worshiped and adored. Early on, Bob and Kax lived in Lombard, IL, outside Chicago, where Bob worked for Olinkraft Inc. It was there, in 1974, their beloved daughter Maggi was born. In 1975, Bob and Kathy returned to Monroe where they made their permanent home. In 1977, they were blessed with a son, Robert. In 1979, Bob joined a small group of friends and colleagues to found Sunbelt Plastics, where he served as Vice-President until his retirement in 2003. Preceding him in death were his doting parents, and his in-laws, Lillian and Harry Addison. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Margaret Schendle (Joe) Derry and Robert Fenner (Kiley) Schendle; grandchildren, Robert Fenner Derry and Georgia Blanche Derry; beloved aunt Phyllis Rose "Phrosie" Raphael, to whom he was especially devoted; siblings Jim (Carolyn) Schendle, H.I. (Susan) Schendle, and Janet (Jay) Finegold, all of Dallas; sister-in-law, Judy (Richard) Moore; brother-in-law, Mark (Angela) Addison; first cousins ("The Bastrop 10") and David Cohn; several nieces and nephews, and their husbands, wives, and children. The light of our lives may have been extinguished but his memory will endure forever. RIP Bobby. We will laugh again, but it will never be quite the same without you. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, followed immediately by a service.
