SCHONFARBER Funeral services for Mr. Hezzie L. Schonfarber of Eufaula, AL will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Kent Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula with Bro. Jimmy Symons officiating. Burial will be held Friday, January 25, at 1:00 P.M. at Bisteneau Baptist Church Cemetery in Heflin, Louisiana. Pastor Mike Welch will officiate graveside services. Mr. Schonfarber passed away at Flowers Hospital on Saturday, January 19, after a brief illness. Born October 4, 1935 in Covington, Louisiana, Mr. Schonfarber was the son of the late Thomas K. Schonfarber, Sr. and Girldon Beatrice Schonfarber. He was a resident of Eufaula, Al. for the past 16 years coming from Monroe, Louisiana. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Schonfarber was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana aka University of Louisiana Monroe where he earned a degree in Agriculture. After a short career with a commercial solvent corporation he went on to become the manager of the farming programs at Northeast Louisiana University and retired in 1987. After moving to Barbour County, he worked at Ace Hardware until they closed. He was employed with Wal Mart in Eufaula, AL at the time of his passing. His passions were cooking and gardening. Hezzie will be remembered by his sweet smile and friendly personality. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Survivors include sons, Larry Schonfarber of Monroe, Louisiana, Anthony (Colleen) Schonfarber of Chicago, Illinois, and Sterling Schonfarber of Tennessee; daughter, Adrienne (Allen) Thornell of Clayton, Alabama; brothers, John Schonfarber, Sr. of Louisiana, T.K. Schonfarber of Arkansas, and Ben Schonfarber of Louisiana; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are; Benjie Schonfarber, Eric Schonfarber, Johnny Schonfarber, Larry Schonfarber, Tony Schonfarber, and Sterling Schonfarber.
