SCRIBNER Judith W. Scribner, age 76, died on Tuesday night March 29, 2016 at her residence at Azalea Estates in Monroe after an extensive battle with pancreatic cancer. From her birth to her death, she encouraged and loved on everyone. Her outgoing, friendly spirit and her hallmark hugs endeared her to all. After retiring as an executive secretary from Bancroft Paper Company in 1987, Judy devoted her years and efforts to various organizations in the area including Mon Amie Newcomer's Club, Bridge Clubs, AARP Tax Aide Volunteers, Bayou Valley Square Dance Club, Cajun Connection Dancers, Big Timer's Dance Club, Northeast Dance Club, and Cosmopolitan Dance Club. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church in West Monroe, she was also constantly reaching out to the needs of others through her visits, her cooking and baking as well as her card sending ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Myrtle Williams and by her son, Jay Miller. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Scribner and their children, Herbert Scribner Jr., James Scribner, Harry Scribner, Shelia Sherman- Haire and Joy Marx, as well as by their 9 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 1, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe and again on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 3:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church in West Monroe until the time of service. Funeral services celebrating the life of Judy Scribner will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ed Stinson Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church in West Monroe or to the Salvation Army.
