Dawn Schoonover Sehon was born January 20, 1959 in Houston, TX and passed away Friday, August 14, 2009. Dawn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delhi and the Sorority, Kapa Delta. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James K. Sehon; parents, Eugene and Betty Schoonover and grandmothers, Jewel Merriweather and Sue Cire. Dawn was a delight to everyone she met. She had a wonderful personality and was cherished by her many friends throughout Louisiana. Her sons Jes and Jared were the apples of her eye and she enjoyed her role as their mother immensely. She never missed the enjoyment of "being there" for her boys at all their sporting events as they grew into young men. Dawn was an ideal wife, friend, and partner for the late Dr. Kenneth Sehon. They were inseparable. She was a selfless and giving person. Dawn understood the importance of Dr. Sehon to his patients and his community and was willing as a matter as principle to share him with all of us. She made a home for him and her sons that were a refuge and sanctuary. A place of peace. A place where a surgeons' bad days were softened and good days were enhanced. A place of moderation where judgment was reserved and forgiveness encouraged. Survivors include her sons, James Ellis Sehon of Ruston, LA and Jared Andrew Sehon of Monroe, LA; siblings, Michael Schoonover and wife, Carol of Anna, TX, Pamela Loftin and husband, Ken of Delhi, LA, and Bryan "Brownie" Schoonover and wife, Elizabeth of Baskin, LA; aunts and uncles, Johnnie Walker of Winnsboro, LA, Jim Merriweather of West Monroe, LA, and Susie Junkin of Delhi, LA; mother and father-in-law, James and Elizabeth Sehon of Calhoun, LA; sisters-in-law, Sammie Gordon of Monroe, LA and Mary Sehon of Shreveport, LA; special friends, Dr. Deborah Johnson, Jeanna Davis, Hattie Travis, and Leigh Anne Burns; a host of nieces and nephews.
